Jerry graduated from the University of Illinois, GO ILLINI, in 19XX(he's not telling) with a Masters in Music Education.  Went right to work teaching band for the next 10 years and had a wonderful time!  When Cathy, his wife of 39 years, finished her MS in Microbiology they moved to Kalamazoo so she could work at Upjohn Pharmaceuticals.   Jerry went to work at Kalamazoo College in Financial Aid for the next 10 years.  He made the big move to WMU in 1994 and has just retired from their Financial Aid office.  During all this time he has been a member of the BHS since 1981.  He sang with many quartets including, Picture This 4, Under New Management, My 3 Dads and currently with By Design, always singing the BEST part---Tenor.   There have been a few others but the names have disappeared.  In 2002 the Pioneer District asked Jerry to become the Events planner for the District.  Jerry has 25 years experience planning and running events for the Financial community so he really enjoys this type of work.  Being retired has done nothing for his free time.  He still volunteers with Hospice, the church and of course his favorite hobby Barbershopping!!!
